The Assistant Director

Michael Lancaster first went to South Africa in May 2002 to visit and support his friend Nicole in her efforts. While there, he also became personally aware of the state of the children and the lack of any real escape from their situations. After rushing back to the U.S. to bury his grandmother, Michael realized he had more to offer these children and moved later that year to assist Nicole with the outreach.

Michael desires to see youth develop academically and spiritually. A former teacher in Atlanta, GA, he brings a wealth of experience and the ability to connect with children. Michael received a Bachelor’s degree in History and African-American Studies from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia, which he hopes will help advance the mission of Goshen International.
